These paintings are mostly derived from photographs. Black and white photos have more drama and interest for me but I often move away from a literal transcription and create another sort of image.

Three pictures are based on some photos I found lying by the side of the road.

One is from a painting in the Fitzwilliam Gallery, Cambridge, and I have just changed the characters.
